The Dark Arts Festival is proud to have our featured artist Christine Rego Who also made The artwork for the show. In her words...

"From the time I was a little girl I always had a pen and a piece of paper handy. Although my family was poor to middle working class and we couldn't afford much, a pen and paper had been around for us kids to use our imaginations and create. I have been doodling for as long as I can remember and although I have never been formally trained, I always found myself driven towards art as an escape. Whether it was childhood trauma or serving in the Air Force, I had always used art as a crutch to cope with my PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Art has helped me navigate life immensely, and I have met wonderful people along the way through our shared appreciations of art. I would say my medium is anything pen related, finely detailed pen drawings are my favorite and I sometimes mix that style with acrylic paints to enhance the pieces. The thing I like most about art is that there are no rules and you can freely create what you want, escaping to the happiest of places, and the serotonin boost that comes along with it after creating for me, makes it worth it. My favorite art moment is when I sold my first piece and donated the profits to a local animal shelter where I first adopted my senior pup Rocket. If anyone gets anything out of this description it should be this, RESCUE! Dogs are amazing. That is all."
